About Me

After graduating with a degree in Psychology, I completed a 1 year Postgraduate Certificate in Education. It was my intention to follow this path to become and Educational Psychologist but I fell in love with teaching. I taught in Primary schools in Scotland for a number of years before moving overseas. In Singapore, I worked within the Learning Support Department, teaching children with a variety of specific learning difficulties within a small group setting. As a result, I have experience teaching children with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Dyscalculia and Dyslexia.

I completed a Diploma in Specialist Dyslexia Education in order to help young people with literacy difficulties and dyslexia develop the skills to access all areas of the curriculum with confidence. Through this accredited course I am now able to deliver an individualised programme, specific to the needs of each learner. It is delivered in a highly structured, cumulative and multi-sensory way that promotes learner independence and maximises learning potential.

Following this, I completed a Level 7 Assessment course and received my Assessment Practising Certificate which allows me to assess for literacy-related difficulties and Dyslexia. I am a member of the Dyslexia Guild and British Dyslexia Association.
